1. The Levin Report Prompts A Second Look
At Other Bush-Era Whitewashes
by David Fiderer for the Huffington Post

....Lets not forget, that, so far, nothing related to Karl Rove has been
adequately investigated. Rove has been implicated in scandals
pertaining to the U.S. attorney firings, Jack Abramoff's bribery
schemes, the smear campaign against Valerie Plame Wilson, and the
prosecution of Gov. Don Siegelman. Rove consistently flouted the
Presidential Records Act, sending 95% of his emails through an RNC
account. There is abundant circumstantial evidence that Rove used
the RNC as a criminal enterprise, as a vehicle for obstructing justice. If
U.S. Attorney Nora R. Dannehy, the prosecutor investigating the U.S.
attorney firings, fails to obtain access to Rove's emails, her
investigation, like Taguba's, may be fatally flawed.

2. Prosecutors Seek Longer Sentence for
Siegelman
The Associated Press in the WTOK/TV Meridian, Mississippi Website

Federal prosecutors have recommended that former Alabama
governor, Don Siegelman, be sentenced to 20 years in prison when
he receives a new sentencing hearing in federal court in Montgomery.

That's a much longer sentence than the more than seven-year prison
term Siegelman originally received for his 2006 conviction in a federal
government corruption case.

3. Federal Prosecutors Want Siegelman To
Get a Longer Sentence
by Roger Shuler for Legal Schnauzer

....
Our research of the ruling, and the relevant law and facts, indicates
the 11th Circuit's ruling was flawed, unlawful, and a continuation of the
politics that have permeated the case from the outset.

... It indicates that federal prosecutors are acting as brazenly under
the Barack Obama administration as they did under George W. Bush.
We now have Eric Holder as attorney general, but today's news
indicates that makes zero difference to the prosecutors who
ramrodded the Siegelman case.
