Sessions blocks bill on disclosure
by Staff of Mobile Press Register

At the Bush administration's behest, U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions is
blocking action on a bill aimed at limiting presidents' power to
withhold records from public disclosure.

"I think presidents and former presidents have some right to have
personal communications that are not disclosed and we've always
recognized that," the Mobile Republican said Thursday when asked
why he stopped a quick vote on the bill earlier in the week. Asked
whether the White House asked him to do so, he replied, 'Basically,
yes."

Why can't the people of Alabama understand the money that this has
cost our state? I am all for Don Siegelman getting out of prison and
an investigation on some of the present happenings in our state
taking place.
