    Rep. Michael Gregory Hubbard
    GOP operative,  Republican Party Chairman, State Rep. Alabama District
    79, House Minority Leader, Owner of several Media Companies and
    member of several Industry boards, and long time friend Governor of
    Alabama, Bob Riley

    Representative Mike Hubbard represents House District 79. A
    Republican, Representative Hubbard was first elected to the
    Alabama Legislature in 1998 in his first attempt at elected office.
    He was reelected in 2002 and 2006 and currently holds the
    position of House Minority Leader, which is the highest ranking
    Republican in the House. In 2001, he was the recipient of the
    Legislative Leadership Award presented by the Council for
    Leaders in Alabama Schools, and named Alabama Lawmaker-of-
    the-Year by the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents
    Association. Representative Hubbard was also named
    Republican of the Year by the Lee County Republican Party.

    A close ally of Governor Bob Riley, Representative Hubbard was
    picked by the governor to be chairman of his Inaugural
    Committee in 2003 and 2007. He served as Governor Riley's
    House Floor Leader since 2003.

    He is a 1983 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree
    in radio and television. Two weeks after his graduation,
    Representative Hubbard went to work for the Auburn Athletic
    Department where he was employed for six years. During his
    athletic media relations career, Representative Hubbard worked
    directly with two successful Heisman Trophy efforts - Herschel
    Walker at Georgia and Bo Jackson at Auburn.

    Representative Hubbard left Auburn University in 1990 to head
    up Auburn's radio and television and sports network. In 1994, he
    formed the Auburn Network to handle Auburn's multi-media
    rights and build the network into one of the nation's most
    respected collegiate sports networks.

    He sold the multi-media sports division of the company in 2003
    to Winston-Salem, N.C.-based International Sports Properties
    and continues to serve as president of ISP's Auburn Project.

    The Auburn Network owns and operates WANI NewsTalk 1400 in
    the Auburn-Opelika market, as well as Studio 197, an audio
    production company serving the national broadcast industry,
    and East Alabama Living, a regional quarterly magazine. Auburn
    Network is also a partner in Craftmaster Printers, Inc., a
    commercial printing company based in Auburn.

    Representative Hubbard is a member of the Board of Directors
    of the Business Council of Alabama and the Alabama
    Broadcasters Association. He serves as a member of the
    Auburn-Opelika Airport Advisory Board.

    Representative Hubbard is married to Dr. Susan Hubbard,
    associate dean of Auburn University's College of Human
    Services. They are the parents of two sons, Clayte and Riley,
    and are active members in the Auburn United Methodist Church.
